City law firm Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner (BCLP) is one of the 20 businesses we spoke to as we celebrate having supported 1,000 London businesses. BCLP is now a Heart of the City ambassador.
We asked Alison Klarfield, Head of Corporate Responsibility at BCLP to tell us about her journey on the Heart of the City foundation programme. Alison talks about becoming a Heart of the City member in 2006 and how meeting other people interested in responsible business helped her with her new CSR role at BCLP. We also hear about how BCLP supports communities in the boroughs surrounding the City of London. Focusing on Newham and Tower Hamlets, BCLP employees volunteer in primary schools and offer pro bono legal advice clinics – this not only provides support to people who need it but also makes work more meaningful for BCLP staff.
