Making the world a better place to freelance

This month at Heart of the City we’re focusing on treating the people who work for you well: we’ve looked at #BlueMonday (or #BrewMonday) and shared resources on how to help your employees improve their mental health and wellbeing.

But what about the people who work for you who aren’t full-time, permanent employees? How do you make sure your business is a great place to work for freelancers?

This came up in a surgery event we hosted for Heart of the City members at the end of 2021. One of those members on the call was Ross Musgrove, insight and strategy director at Bravand.

As an agency working primarily with freelancers, Bravand had a lot to share with our members, so we asked them to film these short videos for us. They share best practice on working with freelancers, top tips for SMEs and they talk about the new network they’re creating of agencies making the world a better place to freelance. You can watch or listen to the videos here, and below.

We think these videos give some great positivity to the start of the year! If you’re feeling inspired to keep being a good business, you can sign up to our Foundations for Responsible Business programme now. We’re about to launch a new online learning platform, meaning this year, you can take part at any time and learn at your own pace. We hope you’ll join us!
