This interactive Surgery session is all about providing a dynamic forum to ask the experts in diversity and inclusion, and members from our responsible business community your questions on any ‘people-related’ questions to improve your business practices.

Gemma Porter, Senior Diversity & Inclusion Manager, Slaughter and May
Gemma Porter is a Diversity & Inclusion professional with over 15 years’ experience working within the professional services industry. She has worked for a Big 4 Accountancy firm, a strategy consulting firm and most recently joined Slaughter and May, a magic circle law firm. Throughout her career she has gained experiences across, and managed different HR functions including graduate recruitment and talent management, with a focus on embedding Diversity & Inclusion into the employee lifecycle. In recent years she has specialised in Diversity & Inclusion and is now a Senior Diversity & Inclusion Manager at Slaughter and May. She is passionate about developing inclusive cultures where people can thrive and bring their best selves to work.

Annisha Taylor – Head of Diversity and Inclusion Business Partnering, BBC
A prominent and passionate thought leader, experienced in the creation of distinctive organisational strategies that role models inclusive behaviours, cultivates equality and fosters a sense of belonging for employees and audiences alike. As the BBC’s Head of Diversity & Inclusion Business Partnering, Annisha oversees the BBC’s strategic approach to creating an organisation that is truly inclusive and one that has a diverse workforce which reflects and is representative of the audiences they serve. During her previous 17-year tenure with the John Lewis Partnership, Annisha held positions across Learning & Development, Organisational Design and Diversity & Inclusion. Away from work, Annisha’s passion for inclusion continues in her voluntary roles as a Heart of the City Responsible Business Ambassador and a Global Purpose Enterprise Mentor. She is also an active member of her local community serving as a School Governor and a Board Trustee at Sutton African & Caribbean Cultural Organisation (SACCO).
