Volunteering during a pandemic: June HotC Highlight

Welcome to your June edition of the HotC Highlight! It’s Volunteers’ Week 1 – 7 June so we’re talking about different ways you can support your community during the Coronavirus outbreak.

Volunteers’ Week is an annual celebration of the contribution millions of people make across the UK through volunteering in their communities.

Even if you already volunteer regularly, you’ll probably have had to make some changes to the way you’re giving support. That’s why we’ve created a brand new resource, ‘volunteering during a pandemic’. Lots of organisations have developed brilliant opportunities for people and businesses to support the people who need it at this time, so whether you want to help people across the UK as a whole, or go super local with who you’re helping, there’ll be something for you and your business.

You’l find lots more volunteering resources on our resource hub, such as a guide to getting started with volunteering and a sample employee volunteering policy. And if you’re a Heart of the City member, don’t forget to sign up to our 2 July online workshop on developing your community programme – we’ll have lots of volunteering tips!
