Foundation programme

Every business can be a force for good

We want to galvanise business leaders to do well by doing good, and our flagship foundation programme will help you do just that. Join for 2020 and you’ll get the knowledge and tools you need to make sure your business has a positive impact on people, places and planet by developing a responsible business programme.

What is the foundation programme?

The programme runs over two years, with events, mentoring, networking and online resources that help you to define and develop your responsible business approach. We have a dedicated network of contributors from a range of industries, experienced in responsible business and eager to support you with their expertise and advice.

Thanks to funding from the City of London Corporation and City Bridge Trust, we’re able to offer year one to eligible businesses at no cost – there’s more about eligibility for this in our FAQ section.

We only have a few spaces left for SMEs based in London! Apply as soon as possible to join us in 2020

What’s involved?

Our programme runs by calendar year for an all-round introduction to responsible business and covers community, environment and workplace.

In your first year you’ll be introduced to key concepts in responsible business through:

  • An account manager who’ll help you set your goals
  • A series of workshops and webinars to help you get started
  • Building a network of people who are also starting out in responsible business
  • Accessing our online templates, tip sheets and guides
  • An invitation to the high-profile Lord Mayor’s Dragon Awards that celebrate the best in responsible business

In year two you’ll implement your programme and develop your activities by:

  • Being matched with an experienced responsible business professional as a mentor
  • Honing your thinking at surgeries, masterclasses and webinars
  • Accessing our online templates, tip sheets and guides
  • Applying for industry awards like the Lord Mayor’s Dragon Awards
  • Celebrating with your peers at our graduation event

What are the benefits?

We’ve helped over 850 companies now, supporting them to introduce responsible business programmes that have changed their businesses for the better by:

  • Joining a movement of business leaders committed to doing well by doing good
  • Being helped to encourage senior leaders to support responsible business
  • Winning new business leads
  • Developing their employees’ skills
  • Gaining a competitive edge

You don’t have to take our word for it though – see what people are saying about our programme here.

Who’s it for?

Our programme is designed for small to medium-sized businesses (SMEs). We welcome companies with little to no experience in responsible business from all types of industries – this year we’ve got members from financial services to tech, and from architecture to hospitality. Check out which businesses have already completed our programme here.

What’s the cost?

Thanks to funding from the City of London Corporation and City Bridge Trust, we can offer funded places for the first year to businesses that:

  • Are based in London
  • Have 10-250 employees in the UK
  • Have senior leader support for developing a responsible business approach

When you move into year two, your membership fee is based on the size of your business:

  • Small (10-49 employees): £876 +VAT
  • Medium (50-249 employees): £1,545 +VAT
  • Large (250+ employees): £3,090 +VAT
