Skills for Central Londoners: GLA & Central London Skills Consultation

Skills provision in Central London is changing. In 2019 the Adult Education Budget will be devolved to the Mayor, and with it will come significant changes to how Central London residents receive skills and training, and how providers deliver adult education.

This event will offer delegates the opportunity to hear from the GLA and Central London Boroughs about their ambitions for post-16 skills, and provide an opportunity to shape the strategies of both the GLA and Central London Forward as they develop new priorities for a changing labour market.

The event will provide representatives of the adult education sector the opportunity to:

  • Feed into the adult education plans of the GLA and Central London Boroughs
  • Understand the Mayor’s ambitions for post-16 education from Deputy Mayor Jules Pipe, including insights into the Draft London Skills Strategy.
  • Understand the specific challenges and opportunities facing Central London skills provision, including hearing from Cllr. Peter John on the skills priorities for the Central London Area.
  • Network with employers, providers, and policymakers across adult education.
  • Tickets will be available on a first come, first served basis, so booking early is encouraged.
