Reducing your digital emissions

Join us for a lunch and learn on internet and digital emissions. We’ll be looking at what digital emissions are, explore how you can measure them effectively and share practical ways to reduce them.

What to expect

Did you know that everything you do on the internet contributes to your carbon footprint? It’s true, and the figures are quite shocking! The internet has a larger carbon footprint than the aviation industry and it’s rising fast with 4.5 billion people making trillions of interactions each year.

Every business has a digital presence, from a website to social media, but it’s something that’s not often considered when measuring a carbon footprint and is rarely included in net zero reduction plans.

James Cannings, Chief Sustainability Officer at MSQ and co-chair of the BIMA Sustainability Council, is joining us to explore the core benefits for developing lower carbon digital solutions. He’ll share some of the tools that teams need to measure digital footprints, and the practical solutions and skills you need to help your teams to reduce them and the benefits around performance and cost optimisation.

For SMEs that often have very small Scope 1 and 2 emissions, digital emissions are an area of your businesses Scope 3 that you can actively take control of to reduce your carbon footprint – it’s not one to miss!

Who’s it for?

This online session is for anyone who’s looking to learn about digital emissions, how to measure them and what you can do to decarbonise and reduce your carbon footprint, particularly for SME businesses. Whether you’re in a sustainability team, marketing team, or have a personal interest in net zero and the digital space, there’s something for everyone.
