Dragon Café has arrived in the City of London. The café is a space where anyone working or living in the Square Mile can go to release the pressures and stresses of work, home, or day-to-day life – all for free.
Located in Shoe Lane Library, Dragon Café in the City is a relaxing space and offers a range of free activities and events to promote and support well-being – mind, body and soul. Activities include mindfulness, short massage, yoga and creative workshops and are all designed to address common mental health conditions such as stress and anxiety.
If you don’t feel like actively engaging, Dragon Café in the City is also open to those who simply want some quiet time to reflect and relax in their chill-out zones, away from the hustle and bustle of the busy streets. You can visit for half an hour, or half a day – Dragon Café in the City operates on a drop-in basis and there’s no need to pre-register – just turn up! During lunchtimes visitors are also welcome to bring their lunch (cold food only).
Visit the Dragon Café website to find out more about this fantastic initiative or drop by to see it for yourself.
If you are an employer in the City, they are encouraging you to support them in raising awareness about this service among your staff. Downloadable posters and other resources are available here.
Dragon Café in the City is located at Shoe Lane Library, 1 Little New Street, EC4A 3JR and will be running fortnightly on Thursdays, from 8th February until 12th July, noon until 8:30pm.
Dragon Café in the City is a collaboration between Mental Fight Club, Shoe Lane Library, Business Healthy, the City of London Corporation and Output Arts.
