Heart of the City kicked off the new year in style with a partnership event with a difference! This collaborative event was funded by City Bridge Trust to allow our Director, Sarah Mitchell and Head of Membership, Natalia Rymaszewska to share some of their experiences and knowledge. They focused on some trends from Heart of the City members on the topic of developing relationships with corporate partners.
Showcasing another great partnership, we also had speakers from Grant Thornton, one of our contributor companies, and one of their charity partners Breaking Barriers. They have a brilliant insight into how they make their partnership work to offer training and support to refugees to find stable and fulfilling employment.
Aimed at small to medium sized charities with limited experience in working with businesses, our introductory workshop looked at:

We’re very grateful to Karen Higgins and her team at Grant Thornton for hosting and contributing to our workshop, to Will Gogerty for talking about his experience as a charity partner and the City Bridge Trust for funding this for their grantees. With a repeat of this workshop (plus a few improvements) planned already for June and more events in 2020, we look forward to developing these relationships further, and hopefully inspiring many others in the future!
