We’re a competitive bunch at Heart of the City, so when the opportunity came around to enter our team into the Business Healthy challenge, we jumped at it! Armed with our fit-bits and tracking devices, throughout May we’ve been on a mission to keep active, give some new activities a whirl and have some fun as a team along the way.
From signing up to parkrun, yoga sessions, HIIT workouts and kettlebell classes we’ve managed to squeeze lots in, in anticipation of earning as many points as possible to compete against the other 56 City based companies taking part in the challenge. Top points go to our team captain Jodie, who’s racked up a whopping 2,300 points!
Keen to complete a team activity, we got in touch with HotC year one members High Performance Sports, who kindly organised a climbing lesson for us all at the Castle Climbing Centre in Stoke Newington. After getting to grips with traversing, our instructor Tom led us to have a go at top roping. Sarah faced her fear of heights and despite a couple of wobbly ‘Elvis’ legs, we all successfully made it to the top of the tower!
Huge thanks to High Performance Sports for our session – we hope to return again over the summer and soak up some sunshine in the community garden.
