The Heart of the City team make it really easy to get involved as a contributor. Between managing a busy role and juggling multiple commitments, I’m very cautious about how I use my time – as many other contributors will be too. The Heart of the City team always provides a clear brief, will visit you to support with preparation and are quick to answer any questions you have. It’s always a pleasure to work with the team and support their mission to make every business a force for good.
Anish Shah, Vice President of Community Affairs, Morgan Stanley
Heart of the City contributors are responsible business leaders from a range of sectors who offer their knowledge, experience and resources to support Heart of the City to achieve its mission – to equip and coach business leaders to make a positive difference to people, places and the planet.
Becoming a contributor is an invite-only process. We provide opportunities for our contributors to develop skills, share their expertise and demonstrate leadership in responsible business, such as by mentoring our members, presenting at our workshops or developing a template or tool. There is no financial cost to serving as a Heart of the City contributor, although we ask that every contributor company support us with a request at least once a year to remain in our contributor network.
We see our relationship with contributors as mutually beneficial and tailor our engagement to reflect our contributors’ capacity and resources, as well as their areas of expertise. Contributors should expect a high-quality service from us and we are open to ideas for collaboration! But don’t just take it from us, please see a case study from Charles Joly, Head of Corporate Sustainability & Responsibility at the Bank of England, about his experience working with us.
If you’d like to get involved, here is a list of areas where we would value contributor support:
