On 5th February 2019, Herbert Smith Freehills kindly hosted our 2019 programme launch event, welcoming our new cohort of businesses taking part in our year one foundation programme. Our new cohort is comprised of 81 small businesses from across London, from a range of industries who all share a common purpose of wanting to do well by doing good.
Our launch event was an opportunity for the 2019 cohort to meet the Heart of the City team, find out what to expect from the year one foundation programme and take away practical tools and ideas on how to get started on their responsible business journey.
Natalia Rymaszewska, our Head of Membership kicked off the event, with an overview of year one of the programme, highlighting key resources and support available to members. Natalia shared tips on how to make the most of the programme including dividing workshops between colleagues, setting goals for your responsible business programme and maximising the network and online resources available.
Emma Cooke, Head of Citizenship at Herbert Smith Freehills and one of our Board Advisory Panel members, shared the importance of developing a business case for your responsible business programme, outlining the key business benefits and making it relevant for your company.
Rachel Wheeler, our Membership Manager then shared tips on how to gain internal support for your responsible business activities and strategy from senior leaders and other colleagues ensuring your programme is set for success!
Having completed the year one programme in 2018, we were delighted to be joined by Joanna Henker, Head of Executive Office at Architas to share her top tips on setting out on your responsible business journey.
Karina van Ginkel, our Stakeholder and Membership Manager brought the event to a close by giving members the opportunity to meet their account manager and network with other like-minded businesses taking part on the programme, sharing their hopes for the programme and responsible business goals.
